Lucifer Lighting Introduces Family of LED Downlights Up to 3000 Lumens

For high-ceiling applications and spaces requiring greater light levels where definition and quality are paramount, Lucifer Lighting Company — in a major product expansion — has unveiled the Y Series of its acclaimed LEDX downlight family. The new line is being presented at international industry events in Las Vegas, Washington,Find quality swing arm led light bulbs, swing arm sconces, swing arm wall mounted lamps and more at the lowest prices with Arcadian Lighting. D.C., and Frankfurt, Germany.

Building on its LEDX product range first introduced in January 2011,Fruity crystal light hard candy with plenty of guilt-free and sugar-free pleasure! Lucifer Lighting’s new Y Series downlights are engineered for ceilings up to 30 feet tall, using LEDs delivering 1300 (17W), 2000 (35W) and 3000 (53W) lumens. The ability to deliver 3000 lumens (lm) puts these downlights among only a handful of fixtures available anywhere in the world that are capable of offering as much light with an LED, but the Y Series fixture designs are unlike anything else, too. The LEDX can be installed “zero-sightline” – meaning that the fixture’s trim is flush with the ceiling. LEDX has garnered early acclaim for its encompassing package of scale,Free shipping on most contemporary lighting. We offer the lowest prices on all floor lamps. aesthetics and performance – a result consistent with the company’s new brand message, “Design, Define, Disappear.”

The new Y Series debuted in April at Light+Building in Germany, and this week will be presented to hospitality designers at HD Expo and to U.S. architects at the AIA 2012 National Convention.

“While 4.5-inch aperture downlights with 6-inch overall diameters represent a totally new direction for Lucifer Lighting,” says Alexandra Mathews, Vice President of International Sales & Marketing for the company, “the minimalist proportion and elegant design of the Y Series – coupled with high technical performance, in particular for accent lighting and wall washing – are consistent with the look and functionality of our pinhole downlights, for which we are so well known.”

While designers and architects need to use high-efficacy lighting sources, says Mathews, they have consistently told Lucifer Lighting they aren’t happy with the scale, glare level and mediocre performance of products on the market recently. “The new Y Series is completely unique in the marketplace,” she says, “achieving high levels of brightness and beam control with literally no glare, whether the ceiling is 8 feet or 30 feet.Contemporary adjustable and led strip and ceiling lights.”

The new fixtures capitalize on Lucifer Lighting’s blend of technology and design. “While our cutting-edge LED modules are essential to the successful performance of the LEDX Y Series product line,Here you will learn about modern lighting as well as all of the big flashlight, flashlight rings, 1000 lumens flashlight. it’s really the aesthetics that will drive interest among architects, lighting designers and end-users,” says Mathews. “Nothing in the world looks like this – it’s essentially a new visual idiom for high-ceiling downlights.”

Most wide-aperture downlights today offer reflectors on the fixture interior, which are usually visible, while the Y Series employs die-cast baffles, with the reflectors above the baffles and mediated by a lens. With at least a 40-degree cutoff to the LED, the source is more hidden and integral to the ceiling surface, meaning the fixtures can deliver much more light with virtually no glare.

Lights, legacy

The Bastrop City Hall court yard was filled with people Monday night, yet a silence fell over the crowd as they came in to find their seats for the Law Enforcement Officers’ Candle Light Memorial.

“Those are for you,” Black replied.

The families of other fallen Northeast Louisiana law enforcement officers also took their seats, set aside for especially for them during this night of remembrance.

In addition to family members, local officials and other law enforcement officers were also in attendance such as Mayor Betty Alford-Olive, Sheriff Mike Tubbs and assistant district attorney Steve Sylvester.

“We as a community have a need to express our appreciation to those we have lost,” said Alford-Olive during her welcome speech. “We must show them that their lives were not in vain.”

Tubbs welcomed everyone as well.

“Each year in the state of Louisiana, we add another name to this list of men who die in the line of duty,” he said. Here you will learn about modern lighting as well as all of the big flashlight, flashlight rings, 1000 lumens flashlight. “We need to remember these guys, and not forget the men and women who still serve today.”

Decorating Diary: Lamps should not cover big painting

Q: If we are placing a gigantic painting above the sofa in the great room, do we measure the width of the sofa or include end tables at each end?

A: If the lamps are not very tall, you might include the width of the sofa and the end tables.

When the lamps are taller, as to block out some of the painting, consider just the space above the sofa.Diogen Bicycle lighting system that are a direct replacement for common incandescent, halogen and fluorescent lamps.

Beautiful lamps with some height will take away from the magnificence of the painting and can be just an attractive border on each side. It’s fine for the lamps to cover a bit of the frame, but not of the painting.

Q: I love to collect framed antique mirrors. They are anywhere from 8-by-10 to 16-by -20, but I never seem to have a place for more than one or two.

A: Choose a wall, say in your dining room, and display them all.

They might range from your ceiling to your chair rail or just 2 feet above the floor to 7 feet in height. You’ll get the idea once you begin. If you have a large foyer, they work well in this area as well.

They do not have to be all the same finish frames but group them accordingly. All the light oak in one section, dark oak or mahogany in their own collection.

Q: I have a 9-foot wall that has an almost 6-foot double window in the middle.

I am contemplating a window seat or just placing a 6-foot love seat in the center. Since I am looking for shelves for book cases, shall I place book shelves between the top of the window and the ceiling?

Should I place an end table and lamp on one side of the sofa and bookcases on the other? This might be a place for an occasional overnight guest.

Physicists Succeed in Making ‘Impossible’ Gamma-Ray Lens

Lenses are a part of everyday life—they help us focus words on a page, the light from stars, and the tiniest details of microorganisms. But making a lens for highly energetic light known as gamma rays had been thought impossible. Now, physicists have created such a lens, and they believe it will open up a new field of gamma-ray optics for medical imaging, detecting illicit nuclear material,In terms of orientation lighting, points of garden lighting or rows of lights are used to provide orientation in the outdoor area. and getting rid of nuclear waste.

Glass is the material of choice for conventional lenses, and like other materials, it contains atoms which are orbited by electrons. In an opaque material,Buy table lamps, modern lamps and floor lamps from Heal’s, the home of modern, designer and contemporary table, floor and desk lamps. these electrons would absorb or reflect light. Our main products are street lamps and other led light bulbs, such as solar street lighting, solar garden lighting and solar lawn lighting. But in glass, the electrons respond to incoming light by shaking about, pushing away the light in a different direction. Physicists describe the amount of bending as the glass’s “refractive index”: A refractive index equal to one results in no bending, while anything more or less results in bending one way or the other.

Refraction works well with visible light, a small part of the electromagnetic spectrum, because the light waves have a frequency that chimes well with the oscillations of orbiting electrons. But for higher energy electromagnetic radiation—ultraviolet and beyond—the frequencies are too high for the electrons to respond, and lenses become less and less effective. It was only toward the end of last century that physicists found they could create lenses for x-rays, the part of the electromagnetic spectrum just beyond the ultraviolet, by stacking together numerous layers of patterned material. Such lenses opened up the field of x-ray optics, which, with x-rays’ short wavelengths, allowed imaging at a nanoscale resolution.

There the story should have ended. Theory says that gamma rays, being even more energetic than x-rays, ought to bypass orbiting electrons altogether; materials should not bend them at all and the refractive index for gamma rays should be almost equal to one. Yet this is not what a team of physicists led by Dietrich Habs at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in Germany and Michael Jentschel at the Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL) in Grenoble, France, has discovered.

ILL is a research reactor that produces intense beams of neutrons. Habs, Jentschel,Garden lighting and led lights. Low cost, next working day dispatch to anywhere in UK inc Highlands and Islands. and colleagues used one of its beams to bombard samples of radioactive chlorine and gadolinium to produce gamma rays. They directed these down a 20-meter-long tube to a device known as a crystal spectrometer, which funneled the gamma rays into a specific direction. They then passed half of the gamma rays through a silicon prism and into another spectrometer to measure their final direction, while they directed the other half straight to the spectrometer unimpeded.

So what drives this new bending effect? Although he can’t be sure, Habs believes it resides in the nuclei at the heart of the silicon atoms. Although electrons don’t normally reside in nuclei because of the very strong electric fields there, quantum mechanics allows pairs of “virtual” electrons and antielectrons, or positrons, to blink briefly into existence and then recombine and disappear again. If you press those keys softly nothing appears on the screen, and you have to press them hard to make them work. These problems may occur, if, you tend to spill something on your LED bulb, dust settling on the inner surface of the keys, excessive use of some keys while playing games, or due to lack of lubrication. Habs thinks the sheer number of these virtual electron-positron pairs amplifies the gamma-ray scattering, which is normally negligible, to a detectable amount.

An Art and Science Exhibition at Cornell

The history of illumination-as-art can be characterized by attempts to deflect or distract from a central aspect of traditional sculpture: its obdurate material presence in space. From stained glass windows to the high-tech light art of the twentieth century and beyond, such work can have something of the effect of painting: a kind of magic in which we see through the matter before us to focus upon an illusionary space.

“LUX: An Art and Science Exhibition” has been curated by Cornell artist-in-residence Natalie Tyler. It presents the work of contemporary artists and scientists working with light. A series of lectures and demonstrations took place at the university on April 21. The art exhibit component of the event is split between gallery spaces in Milstein Hall and Willard Straight Hall and concludes this week. It features artists from around the world.

Tyler is showing four of her own small pieces,Solar yard Outdoor light and store their own power in the day and release it at night. sculptures of insects’ nests. Though cast in crystal glass, the rough textured, coppery orange translucent material suggests resin. Their modular yet irregular structures evoke the 1960s sculpture of Eva Hesse and the contemporary work of Tara Donovan. (One was not on when I was there). Their vibrant forms give a palpable sense of organic process.

“Falling Water,” a piece by Danish glass artist Stine Diness, suggests a cartoon rainburst.Fruity crystal light hard candy with plenty of guilt-free and sugar-free pleasure! Clusters of Q-tip-like vessels – bottom heavy as if pulled down by gravity – have been tied together in clusters and hung from the ceiling. The effect is engaging, if mannered: water solidified but unlike icicles, slightly unnatural.

Two large chromogenic prints by the Italian photographer Beatrice Pediconi are striking for their richness and immersive quality. Indeterminate light-forms pop out against bluish dark backgrounds. In “XVI,” we see shapes evoking smoke and stars; a smoke ring or jellyfish dominates “XXII” against deep void. Alluding to abstract painting, these pieces record the chaotic action of colored liquid flowing through water.

The sculptor Jason Krugman is represented with three basket-like constructions built with metal wire nets and small LED lights. Their brittle quality is somewhat compensated for by the lights, which appear smaller or larger with slight shifts of viewpoint. “Basket” rests on a low pedestal and suggests a playful abstraction of its namesake in its twisting concavities. Two pieces hang from the ceiling. Although “Manta” suggests a doubled envelope (a sea animal seems more of a stretch), it too reads as primarily a geometrical construct. “Flower,” however, has a distinctly anthropomorphic presence, recalling a helmeted bust as well an O’Keefe-like floral. This figurative allusion gives it a memorable edge.

Oisyn Bryne’s cosmological sculpture “Universe Cubed” is another highpoint.Buy table lamps, modern lamps and floor lamps from Heal’s, the home of modern, designer and contemporary table, floor and desk lamps. The piece has been constructed from dark steel plates perforated with variously sized holes and lit from within. It suggests an idealized map of the stars.
